Encouragement From Narnia (Chapter 2 of The Silver Chair, by C.S. Lewis)

“‘I daren’t come and drink,’ said Jill.

‘Then you will die of thirst,’ said the Lion.

‘Oh dear!’ said Jill, coming another step nearer. ‘I suppose I must go and look for another stream then.’

‘There is no other stream,’ said the Lion.”

~ Chapter 2, The Silver Chair, by C.S.Lewis

Sometimes I set my hope on things that can’t deliver the fulfillment, security, or peace I’ve ascribed to them. They’re like dried up riverbeds. But there is a stream of living water—the source of every good and perfect thing. When my hope is in Him I will not be disappointed.

“For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.” ~Jeremiah 17:8

“Be of good courage and He shall strengthen your heart, all you who hope in the Lord.” ~Psalm 31:2

Blessings to you,
